There is no water at any of the locations we will film in today
What are the risks associated with the general public? How will these be dealt with?
There is no risk with the public.
How will the equipment be stored during the shoot?

Film Trailer: Rough Cut 1

Ancillary Task: Poster

This is our final version of our ancillary task film poster. We used photo shop and indesign to create this. Since our last we improved quite a lot;
  • We changed the background picture because our target audience said that it needed to show more relevance to the film, which the red post box has.
  • We also changed the 'Dear Lucy' title from white to black and changed its position so that is more central and eye catching.
  • We added the older versions of the children's names at the top of the poster
  • Changed the caption from black to white and made it bigger and central
  • The clothing chosen for Amy and James to wear were casual clothing but of the same colour scheme. The blue/ dark colours used were to present a hint of sadness in the romance genre and the postbox as the main catalyst of the film as their way of communication.
  • We chose to change the picture so the two weren't looking directly at the camera as when looking at examples of posters for films like Dear John and The Notebook, the characters were not looking to the audience. This is a typical convention to make the poster look more professional and like a real poster.

Producing the Ancillary Task: Picture Editing

This is the background used in ancillary task. We changed the brightness and contrast to make it fade into our picture.

This was our main background picture in our film poster. When we edited this picture, we fade the picture into the picture of the letter and put it over the sunset/tree image. We decided to copy 3 of the letter image above and rotated them in different directions to make it look more effective and the poster more full without adding any unnecessary images to it, which were then faded to hide the solid lines. The letter was also added in for the reason it was a romantic convention, this is to get the genre of the film across via the poster. We decided to use this picture because it represents how Lucy and Ben write to each other throughout their life.

Summary of our Fourth Day of Filming

We have nearly finished shooting all of our footage and we can now finish editing the clips together for our rough cut which is due on tomorrow. The scenes that we filmed today were:

  • A few re-dos of clips that needed re-shooting
  • Younger Lucy and Ben running in the field
  • Younger Ben finding Lucy's diary
  • Younger Lucy telling Ben she is being fostered
  • Younger Lucy arriving at the foster home
  • Younger Lucy hugging Ben good bye
  • Older Lucy and Ben walking towards the camera outside
  • Older Lucy and Ben cuddling on the sofa
  • Older Ben speaking to Lucy on the phone
  • Lucy's voiceovers

Although filming has taken longer than we all thought it would, each time we have filmed what we planned to. Planning it really helped us because it meant we could go straight into filming knowing exactly what we have to film.
